It Begins

It's official now. The hummingbird season is emerald green for go. Two more males showed up last night at the window feeder.
FAN-TAB-U-LAS-TIC.
They've learned where the feeder is and I've learned that it "ain't" so easy to photograph a hummer in flight...even with a DSLR. :) I did, however, manage a few shots. Well, more like 179 shots, but who's counting?
They spent the evening hours guarding their spot and chasing one another off. I hope some females show up soon.

The next time I see these guys, I'm going to shoot them in RAW. I get so frustrated with amount of artifacts present in jpegs.

Does it seem like you're looking at the same photo over and over? I promise you're not, I just couldn't decide which I liked best!

I did manage to get him in flight once, even if he's a bit of a blur!

Hummingbirds are the cutest darn birds! You got some nice shots. The red on that male is really really red!! The females will be along soon. Nice series.
