Odd Nature

Sometimes nature can be a bit odd, funny even. While heading out on my daily walk yesterday a female robin and her 'catch' caught my attention. She was doing her dead level best to get the worm airborne with herself, to no avail. I took a few shots from a pretty good distance and thought to myself, 'that sure is a big worm, I wonder if she's got a snake...' Sure enough, by the time I got about 4 feet from her she finally gave up and dropped it: a smooth earth snake. Ironically enough, this snakes diet consists mainly of small insects...and earthworms.
I do love nature. Never a dull day!
