Eastern Fence Lizards and Baby Mantids

Earlier this week, while out on a daily photo walk, I sat down on a fallen tree and found exactly what I had been searching for: an Eastern Fence Lizard.

She's a little beauty, it was so nice to find her. Fence lizards are more or less calm and easy going so long as you're not harassing them. They'll usually stick around for quite a bit and the babies have an even better temperament.

I was also able to witness the emerging of baby mantids from their egg cases. If you've never seen a baby praying mantis, then you've got to check out this photo.
