Ahhh....Friday morning...the weekend is on it's way...looks like it's gonna be a lovely day....hey....huh....what is that annoying screeching sound? Wha? Whoa! They're EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, the grackles have INVADED the funny farm! I awoke this morning to the sights and sounds of a huge flock of common grackles dispersing among the farm. Some were in the yards, some were in the back pasture, some were in the trees...but most of them had gathered in what's left of the corn and my BIRD FEEDERS!!!!
I tell ya, that's a face I'm not even sure a momma grackel could love...
For every black bird you see, there's 3 or 4 more....AHHH!

You're gettin' ahead of me here. Two posts since I stopped by. Those grackles although not always welcome are pretty with the blue showing up on the black wings among the rich green of the corn stalks. Great detail!
Hi Christy, we get the grackles too but usually not until the corn across the road has been cut and then the birds will come by the hundreds.
