Birds and rain

I find it so interesting that most birds seem most active right before or during a rainy period. I look forward to seeing and hearing all manner of songs and clamoring about when I know rain is in the forecast.

Yesterday I watched for a long while while a couple of resident American Goldfinches as well as many Carolina Chickadees, Cardinals, Song Sparrows, Mourning Doves, Mockingbirds, and European Starlings milled about the yard and feeders.

Never would I have thought that doing something so seemingly mundane would bring me such enjoyment. And I do enjoy birds. :) Perhaps one day I will have the equipment needed to photograph them better.
